The night I got saved/La noche en que fui salva

I can't remember a time that God has not been in my life. I grew up in a christian home and my mom made sure to teach me the ways of the faith. Though I was pretty much in church every day it wasn't till the age of 13 that I gave my life to Christ.

I remember it like it was yesterday; Wednesday, October 6, 1993 7:30pm NYC.
In those days I was a rebellious adolescent going through puberty, and everything my mom did or said wasn't fair nor did I care to hear it. That night we had church service at 7:00pm and I didn't feel like going. Church had become a boring routine for me.

My mom was ready to leave when I told her that I didn't feel like going to church that night. I could tell by her face that she was angry but to my surprise she didn't lecture me, she simply gave me a stern look and said "The Lord will deal with you!" I laughed and said "okay!"

I didn't really care, I was happier that I didn't get into an argument with her and that I had gotten my way. I went into my room, toke off my shoes, gathered my pajamas, toiletries and walked towards the bathroom when I stopped in the middle of the hallway, in front of this large mirror my mom had. I had noticed this huge zit on my cheek, as I began to squeeze the pimple I heard a loud authoritative voice in the living room call my name "Ana". I felt every hair on my body stand, like someone had poured a bucket of ice water on me. I instantly recognized God's voice calling to me. I swiftly threw everything on top of my bed, put my shoes on and ran out the door. When I got to church I knelt and prayed for the Lord to forgive me and I passed to the altar when the pastor made the altar call.

After the service my mom wasn't even surprised to see me there, it was like she knew what God had done.

***********************************************************************

Simplemente me miro seriamente y me dijo "El Señor tratara contigo!"

I see all the good things God is doing with you. He is not done with you. There is more to come. There is victory in the name of Jesus Nazareth.
